DOES LASER HAIR REMOVAL HURT?
The Soprano Ice Platinum & Titanium systems are virtually pain free. Most clients only experience a gentle warming sensation in the area being treated with some feeling a mild pins and needles sensation.
IS A PATCH TEST NECESSARY?
It is 100% necessary to patch test before a laser hair removal treatment, even if you have had laser hair removal elsewhere. The procedure allows us to check that your skin is suitable for laser hair removal and will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. A general inspection of your skin will take place and then a small area will be exposed to the laser light. In addition to ensuring no adverse reactions occur, this also provides us with the opportunity to tailor the machine’s settings to your personal requirements.
AM I SUITABLE FOR LASER HAIR REMOVAL?
The Soprano Ice Platinum & Titanium systems are suitable for all skin tones and emits 3 different laser light wavelengths to target the widest possible range of hair colours. However as lasers target the brown melanin pigment within hair, ginger, pale blonde, white or grey hair will not be affected by the laser. We can only treat clients who are aged 18 and over.
HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TREATMENT?
A minimum of 6 to 8 treatments are recommended to achieve optimum results with some stronger hair growth areas such as the face and private area possibly needing more treatments. Facial laser hair treatments should be every 4 weeks for the first 4 treatments then every 4-6 weeks thereafter. Body laser hair removal treatments are performed every 6 weeks for the first 4 treatments then every 6-8 weeks after that.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE-EFFECTS?
The Soprano Ice Platinum & Titanium systems are some of the safest on the market. Rather than delivering all the laser energy in individual high energy, painful shots such as with traditional laser systems, the applicator is passed back and forth over the area to be treated as it flashes on and off 10 times a second at a lower energy. This allows the necessary warmth to build up over a few seconds which when compared to traditional shots based systems, is virtually pain free. After treatment in rare cases, you may experience mild redness or slight sensitivity. Aloe Vera gel is excellent to calm and soothe the skin.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE BEFORE A TREATMENT?
Apart from shaving, avoid any other hair removal methods such as waxing, threading or hair removal creams for 4-6 weeks prior to treatment, the hair needs to be present to be affected by the laser, if hair has been pulled out, the laser will have nothing to affect. Avoid sun exposure for 1 week and sunbeds or any kind of fake tan for 2 weeks prior to treatment. You should thoroughly shave areas to be treated or patch tested around 8 hours before your visit. Skin must be hair and stubble free for the laser to be operated safely.
WHAT ABOUT AFTERCARE?
For 48 hours after the laser treatment avoid any additional heat such as hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms or vigorous exercise. Avoid sun exposure for 1 week after treatment and avoid sunbeds throughout your treatment course. Avoid swimming for about 48 hours as the chemicals in the water may cause skin irritation.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOPRANO ICE PLATINUM & TITANIUM?
Both systems use all 3 laser wavelength simultaneously – Yag, Alex and Diode/Speed. Results are identical with both systems. The new Titanium system has an improved skin cooling system and a larger treatment hand-piece which makes appointment times faster when treating larger body areas such as arms, legs, abdomen and back. A full body appointment with the Soprano Ice Platinum will take around 3 – 3 1/2 hours whereas a full body appointment with Soprano Ice Titanium will take around 2-2/12 hours.
