• How can I tighten my skin permanently?

The only permanent skin tightening intervension is a surgical face lift. This can last for up to 10 years, depending on life style and how natural ageing progresses.

The issue with surgery is that there are potentially many risks associated such as anesthetic complications, bleeding and infections and the recovery period is often quite lengthy, requiring taking time off work, to allow the swelling and bruising to subside.

It also has comes with a fairly high cost.

If a patient is not willing to consider surgery there are some non invasive options such as HIFU, Radiofrequency, NIR facial and Derma pen microneedling.
These methods are completely non invasive, HIFU is totally pain free. Neither of them require a long recovery period, the patient does not need to take time off work and the cost is more affordable compared to surgery.

The disadvantage of HIFU and Radiofrequency  modalities is that they require repeat sessions to maintain results and don't provide the same results as a surgical face lift would do.

  • What tightens skin fast?

Skin tigthening is a process that requires stimulating the body's own healing mechanism, hence results are not immediate but become visible with time. Skin tithening is more like a marathon rather than a sprint, it requires patience and consistency.
Facial yoga and firming creams can help the process. Keeping a helathy lifestyle is also a big key in preserving skin health.

  • Can very loose skin be tightened?

Very loose skin can be tigthened succesfully with a surgical face lift.
The 2 non invasive modalities described above (HIFU and Radiofrequeny) do provide some improvent but not as good as surgery.

  • How long does loose skin take to tighten?

Best results are achieved at 6 months from completion of the course of treatment recommended, with non invasive modalities.
With surgery, the result will become evident once swelling and bruising have subsided.

  • Does ice tighten skin?

Exposing the skin to ice causes an increase in blood circulation which provides a general glowing and tightening of the skin.
Ice exposure needs to be done on a regular basis to be effective in maintaining the skin tight.
