How does it work?
The way we understand ourselves and our circumstances often feels like objective truth. However, in reality, our ideas are shaped by our experiences and surroundings. Sometimes our beliefs and thoughts can end up holding us back. Coaching helps you challenge and rewrite these limiting beliefs, expanding your view of what you can achieve.
In our sessions, you decide what you’re looking to achieve. My role is to actively listen to both what is being said and what is not being said, while noticing what you are feeling in any given moment. I’ll often reflect these back to you, offering you subtle clues to your own truth that you may not have been fully aware of.
The reflective inquiry approach helps to create a powerful perspective shift. By using your emerging understanding, you can make empowering choices in moving forward.
Is it the same as Therapy?
Both coaching and therapy play a useful role in people’s lives. What distinguishes them is that coaching tends to focus on the present and future, helping you achieve your goals. Talking therapy often has a strong focus on the past to help you overcome traumas, depression and anxiety.
